Do I have to teach it my taste?
- You don't teach it — it learns on its own: no taste quiz to fill in, no preferences to configure. Just talk to it the way you normally would, and it quietly organizes what it hears.
- It gets more accurate the more you use it: whether you lean Cantopop or Mandopop, prefer QQ Music or NetEase Cloud Music, or have a particular way of asking for songs — it gradually picks up on all of it, and its responses fit you better over time.
- It only learns music- and news-related habits: the summary it builds is limited to music, news, broadcasts and device usage — nothing about the rest of your life.

Talk to the assistant to play music, switch rooms, catch the news — exactly as you always have. Nothing changes on your end.
It quietly summarizes once a day
Once a day, the system distills your household's recent activity into a short habit summary — a few sentences, not a verbatim log.
Next time you speak, it understands you better
The next time you talk to it, this summary works quietly in the background to help it understand you — guessing the artist you mean faster, leaning toward the music service you actually use. Whatever you say explicitly always takes priority, of course.
Here's an example: after some use, one household's summary read roughly — "Prefers Cantopop (Jacky Cheung, Hins Cheung) and Mandopop (Jay Chou), also often listens to English pop and Japanese anime songs; frequently uses 'play now' and 'add to queue'; often specifies QQ Music or NetEase Cloud Music; follows international news; mostly speaks Cantonese and Mandarin." This summary is refreshed daily.
What does it record, and can I control it?
This habit summary is limited to music, news, broadcasts and device usage — it doesn't record other personal information. If several people in your household share the same Sonos system, the summary is currently shared across the whole home rather than kept separately per person — separating that out is on our roadmap.
